La Bastide du Pin

The Family House

This is an authentic bastide built at the beginning of the 18th century. It was probably the home of the masters of the area located northwest of Lorgues-en-Provence, which is still known as the “Domaine du Pin.” The bastide sits on a hill, surrounded by a 26,000-square-meter park with several terraces, gardens, a swimming pool boules court and playground. In the garden is the scent of pine trees, lavender and roses. The center of Lorgues is a 400-meter walk from La Bastide.

The term “Bastide” originated in the 18th century when it became fashionable, for wealthy families from large cities such as Marseilles, to spend time in the countryside in the summer, far from the stresses of their city life. The bastides were built and had a lot of staff, both for work in the olive groves and vineyards, and for the upkeep of the house itself, even though the owners usually remained in the city for most of the year.

In the Bastide there are ten bedrooms, a large living kitchen, a dining room, a lounge, a library, and a billiard room. While all families with children may not room in this house, this is where we ask the children to play and use the pool.

Villa La Douce Sylvia

The Adult House

Sharing a wall and grounds with La Bastide, this property is a traditional country house (mas), with it’s own swimming pool, kitchen, dining and several children’s play areas.

However, we ask that this pool and common areas are reserved for adults only, providing a more serene escape for those traveling without children, or for parents who need some time away from theirs.
